DESCRIPTION: Lenzkirch, Germany, standing regulator, model 478, walnut and matched walnut veneer case of architectural form, ornamented with applied moldings, turned elements, and carving, and with a drawer in the base, and resting on turned feet, Roman numeral white enamel dial with brass bezel, blued steel Breguet style hands, and with center seconds hand, month going jeweled brass timepiece movement with deadbeat escapement and jeweled Vulliamy pallets, brass clad weight, ebonized pendulum rod with brass ball, rating nut with engraved scale and pointer, serial #404071, case bottom marked "G. Bauer Anno 1873"
CONDITION: case with properly rebuilt base, the drawer, base sides, some molding, and interior components replaced, upper section (from bottom of door) with old finish, minor bumps, cleaned, some separation at joints, lock missing, finial replaced, dial with hairline, hour hand bent, seconds hand bent, movement ticks, weight and pendulum original.
